Home Versus A Condo

Buying or renting real estate is a tough decision. It doesn't matter if you're looking at real estate in Toronto's chic 20 Gothic neighborhood or Augusta, Georgia. It's a decision that you should struggle with because it's one you don't want to make any mistakes with. Or come to regret later on. There are plenty of options to choose from but for now we want to focus on what's best for you when choosing real estate in Augusta. A home or a condo?

You may either be a lifelong resident of Augusta or be one of the many who recently moved here recently from their Parkdale condos. Whatever the case may be, we're here to help. Before we get into talking about home versus condo, we'd like to tell you about the areas of Augusta you could live in. There are many areas in Augusta that you can choose to live in and Harrisburg is an example. Harrisburg is located in the downtown area and is a great place to live because of it's location. It's near the Medical College of Georgia and University Hospital which makes it a convenient location.

But when deciding on a place to live, the conversation tends to steer towards Summerville and Old Towne. Summerville is more upscale and diversified when it comes to the available types of housing as houses range from 50,000 to a little under two million dollars. Old Towne is located downtown and is seen as a more trendy upcoming spot where younger professionals will tend to settle down. It's a growing section of town that is located near the Augusta Exchange and Mall. It's important to do your research on potential areas of the city you might want to live in. Just like deciding on where to live when looking at Central Toronto real estate if a move to Toronto is in your future. Now that you have some background on Augusta, it's time to get back to our discussion on condo versus home.

You may have had this discussion in the past when looking at Brampton homes from the city where you used to live before moving to Augusta. But this time you didn't want to dismiss the possibility of living in a condo. You tend to know the costs beforehand when buying a single dwelling home. But buyers tend to struggle with what fees are associated with buying a condominium. You should know what most condo associations cover in their fees. For the most part, you're covered for maintenance fees which can include clearing of sidewalks. You're also covered for roof repairs, siding and gutter repairs, landscaping and lawn mowing. Those are things you would have to maintain on your own if you decided to buy a home. Owning a condo gives you a low maintenance lifestyle.

But owning a house gives you more control over your real estate. You get to decide on outdoor landscape designs, what color to paint the siding, etc. Those are decisions left up to you. There might be more costs associated with owning a home because you're paying all of the bills but you also get more freedom. You might also enjoy cutting the lawn or owning a humongous garden and back yard. You get to decide on what features you want when looking at houses to buy. Sure, you get to choose what condominium to buy but you don't always get to redecorate or renovate everything in it. In summary, there are many pros and cons to buying both a house or a condominium. In the end, you need to decide what features are more important to you. Then you can start house hunting once you've decided on what you want in your real estate property. This information can be useful for a wide range or real estate, whether you're looking at Augusta homes or even Arlington Texas homes for sale for example.
